Legal — Terms, Consumer Rights & Warranty (Australia)

This page explains the legal terms that govern services provided by Primechoicebase across Australia, including your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Terms of Service

These Terms apply to all bookings and services provided by Primechoicebase (ABN: 71 123 456 789). By booking a service you agree to these Terms. Services include mobile detailing, workshop detailing, ceramic coating and paint protection film (PPF).

  • Bookings: quotes are estimates. Final price is subject to vehicle inspection and condition.
  • Deposits may be required for certain services (e.g. PPF and coating). Deposit amounts and refund rules are set at booking.
  • Scheduling: we will notify you of any changes; repeated rescheduling may incur fees.

Australian Consumer Law (ACL) — Your Rights

Under the ACL, consumers have guarantees for services that they will be supplied with due care and skill, fit for a particular purpose and completed within a reasonable time. Where a service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, remedies may include repair, re-supply or refund.

Primechoicebase will comply with its obligations under the ACL. This does not exclude or limit consumer rights under Australian law.

  • Care & skill: we use trained technicians and accredited materials.
  • Fit for purpose: tell us if the vehicle has special requirements before booking.

Warranties, Limitations & Liability

We provide limited warranties as described for specific services. Warranties differ by product and service and are void where recommended care instructions are not followed, or where pre-existing paint damage, previous coatings, or external factors (eg. stone chips, vandalism) cause failure.

Service Warranty (typical) Notes
Exterior Detail 30 days Cosmetic finish; excludes wear from use
Ceramic Coating (base) 1–3 years Maintenance required; see product T&C
Paint Protection Film (PPF) 5–10 years Manufacturer warranty applies; proper installation required

Limitations: To the extent permitted by law, Primechoicebase's liability for indirect, special or consequential loss is excluded. Our total liability for proven direct loss is limited to the service fee paid for the relevant job.

PPF & Coating Specific Disclaimers

  • Surface condition: coatings and PPF require sound paint; pre-existing defects (scratches, stone chips) must be disclosed and may require rectification before application.
  • Colour or gloss changes due to prior repairs are not covered.
  • Installation tolerance: minor seams or edge visibility can occur; manufacturer tolerances apply.
  • Maintenance: failure to follow aftercare may void manufacturer or installer warranties.

Bookings, Deposits & Cancellations

Deposits: required amounts will be communicated at point of booking. Deposits are refundable under ACL if the service cannot be provided as agreed. For customer cancellations, deposit refundability depends on timing and notice—please refer to booking terms supplied at time of purchase.

Rescheduling: we aim to be flexible; repeated late changes may attract fees. ***-shows may forfeit deposits.

Complaints & Dispute Resolution

If you are not satisfied with a service, contact us first so we can attempt to resolve the issue promptly. Our internal complaints process aims to respond within 7 business days.

If unresolved, consumers in Australia may seek external dispute resolution via:

  • State consumer affairs agencies (e.g. NSW Fair Trading)
  • Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) for ACL matters
  • Industry ombudsmen where applicable

Email Primechoicebase@gmail.com or call +61429753182 with your booking reference, dated photos, and description. We will record and respond within 7 business days.

If our internal review doesn't resolve the matter, we will advise next steps including referral to external authorities where appropriate.
